AQUAZZURA FALL/WINTER 2024 COLLECTION For the Fall/Winter 2024 season, Edgardo Osorio experiments with leathers, textures, and embroideries, giving life to a tactile collection coloured by warm and fascinating shades. Black becomes the protagonist of the collection in a new guise: nothing is as it seems, the “New Black” takes on a different light and nuance through the use of different materials: from mesh to perforated leather, beaded embroidery to bouclé, and shearling to velvet.
The latter explodes in the collection and takes the field, defining the Couturier family, characterized by the floral pompon motif that takes center stage on and decorates pumps, kitten heel slings, flats that combine with micro bags, in shades of malachite green, Paris blue, and Acqua di Amalfi. The Romance family is identified instead by a cage construction woven in rich velvet of the bootie and plateau silhouettes in a deep merlot nuance.
Sculptural injections such as the Blade heel add intrigue with a built-in eye-catching effect. Inspired by modernist art, Artiste Pump blends bold colours and experimental shapes, resembling a delicate abstract painting. An overarching theme for all pumps is the juxtaposition between materials and patternmaking; from Magnetic Pump mixing suede and shiny specchio with striped like embossment to the Puzzle Pump’s alluring clash of patent, suede, and Plexi.
For the evening ensembles, the mischievous essence continues, putting strong emphasis on the heel. Yes, Baby makes a case for the unconventional, stacking pearl-like spheres in matching colourways, while La Nuit Mule demonstrates an integrated, textured pattern in either black or golden finish.
The Fall/Winter 2024 Collection also introduces new bag shapesand clutches in particular. Starting from the fascinating Tribeca, released as crossbody and shoulder bag, interprets graphic ‘70s style through its boxy rounded shape – made from rich spazzolato leather from malachite green to spice red.
The prominent Muse Clutch, one of Osorio’s personal favorites, pays homage to the ‘70s design as well. Muted tones of copper, cognac, black, and moss green are paired with a gold box, providing a contrast of soft and hard that makes the bag minimal, yet very strong.
